An isotopic study on oxygen uptake/exchange over ceria-praseodymia mixed oxides with pulse experiments using 18O2: Implications on soot combustion activities in the GDI (Gasoline Direct Injection) context

This research work focuses on a preliminary study of the behaviour several ceria-praseodymia mixed oxides along with three model catalysts under isotopic oxygen pulses at different temperatures in an attempt to investigate their ability interact 18O2 (uptaking/releasing/exchanging) own lattice oxygen, conditions which could simulate those existing GDI exhaust gases. Furthermore, these were studied explore responses towards soot combustion two consecutive 500 °C. It was observed that capacity activation and uptake is very dependent nature catalyst. Ce1−xPrxO2-δ present O2 processes, as function temperature, praseodymium content method preparation. Moreover, some formulations exhibited high activity marked intervention unlabelled active species during inert period after pulse.
